The Bedroom!
*please excuse the curtains...I have not decided on anything yet so these are just pinned up to block out the street light at night. Fancy huh?

now I have a small place to put all my pretty little things ...

Here are two throw pillows that have colors I might put into the room. The green one is a keeper (a Target find) but the other may get 'the boot' since it's not my favorite peice in the room and has colors I am not a huge fan of. I have a way to go on the curtains yet but so far so good. I am hoping to get a few samples for curtains this weekend and will post them for any ideas. The brown print below is a sample I found in the clearance bin and I'm wishing that they had a ton more of it - cause I'd buy it all!

Bedroom UPDATE:::

We have been putting together endless IKEA nuts, locks, screws, & pegs...and we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel! We have the bed and all three dressers up and are currently they are getting filled with our endless garments! yay! I will post final pictures of everything as soon we get the place cleaned up a bit. For now here are a few pics of the process...

The bed frame is together!
*Please ignore the temporary curtains/table cloths as I have not decided yet on a more permanent solution :(

I'm trying not to loose my mind on the third dresser...

I seemed like we alway shad one more peice to start just as we got one done.

Rob was so good about all the wigets and cranks that IKEA gives you, he was a great sport!

The wall below is where all three dressers will be lined up...you will see...coming next!

Back from the holiday! ~
We had a great holiday and with the several days off that we took...we got nothing done. I injured/broke/??? my tailbone after Christmas and it's been a little slow since. Feeling a little better, now I am starting to get our bedroom back on track.
Last night I ordered the curtains below in espresso (the same color as our duvet cover - also shown below)
Do you think the roman shades will look okay with the bed there or should we just leave them for the other windows?
A) With Roman Shade
B) Without Roman Shade
Our duvet cover which will be paired with moss green sheets...
Now we just need to decide on blinds the two other windows in our room. Privacy is most important at this point...I think that Rob has given the neighbors enough of his morning routine. So bamboo or roman shades are the direction I am thinking - of course we have to follow suite with the window behind the bed if we go with a roman shade for that one too. Let me know what you think of these choices with the brown above...

Natural Bamboo $44.99 ea.

Mahogany Bamboo $44.99 ea.
Or what about the same color of the curtains for the other windows - but in roman shade style:
Please share your comments...I need some direction here. Also the bedroom furniture will be here on Saturday so I will put up some new pics of the completed room very soon. Please comment on any ideas you may have...I love to hear form you all!

Okay I know what your going to think - It's right before Christmas and she is already asking for stuff on her blog... But hear me out, please. I want to add this to my "Wish List 2008" not my Christmas list - *although if i get it for Christmas that's all the better.... This is book done by Rob Ryan which a great screen print artist. I love his work!

This is for You
Book by Rob Ryan

PS. More bedroom updates to come -> We bought a Nintendo Wii this week so needless to say we have been a bit distracted - i.e. we are still sleeping in the living room and have not pulled the tape off the walls yet = we are lazzzzyy peeps (But it's all painted!)

Also we tried to drive to Bolingbrook, IKEA on Saturday to buy the MALM bed and dressers that we have been so in looking forward too, but the weather gave us ice and sleet and kept us from going north of Springfield, IL so we had to turn around. boo. We will most likely try to keep our savings and just stop off on our way back from Michigan after we see our family for Christmas. We where trying not to do this so that we wouldn't have the dog with us - oh well I hope they sell dog treats at IKEA cause he will be in the car for an hour for this trip. Poor lill guy, then I have to ride with him on my lap (ahhh) all the way back cause the furniture will take up all the room in the back. Fun, fun...sounds like another Rob and Kristin road trip.

Now that it is getting bit cooler we are starting on a few inside project - oh yeah! We primed and painted our bedroom over the past week and are still working on it - here is a sneak peak with a before and after so far:

(The before pictures are from the person who lived here before us - not our stuff!)

The bedroom is an odd shape so here is a simple layout design (no photoshop here - boo)

Rob painting by hand - He painted the top of the wall to ceiling all around the room by hand - so proud - he has come such a long way with a paint brush! (round of aplause for him please >> > )

Here below you will see the "creepy door" it leads to the empty dormer space - which I call "creepy land"

It is Friday and I have posted...NOTHING all week. boo to me. We have been so busy trying to red up the house for our first guests that I forgot to update you all. We have completely cleaned out the guest room and are working on adding some additional plant life to our home. Last weekend we stopped @ Ikea on our way home from Chicago-what a mad house! Never go to Ikea on Labor Daybor - NEVER I tell ya. Anywho we bought a few cute thing including this great dresser for our guest room (IKEA Ramberg for $69.99):
I have a few more pics to post when I get home from work...
